Voice and the Microphone

Only while you hold or tap to speak to the assistant, and only for as long as that interaction lasts. Trueday does not listen in the background, has no wake word, and does not run the microphone while the app is closed. iOS shows the orange microphone indicator whenever any app is recording, including this one — if you do not see it, Trueday is not listening.

Audio is streamed straight from the microphone into the speech recogniser and discarded as it goes. Trueday never writes an audio file, never keeps a buffer after the interaction ends, never uploads audio to its own servers, and never includes audio in sync or exports. There is no recording of your voice to request, because none is made.

Trueday asks iOS to keep recognition on your device wherever your device and language support it. On devices or languages where on-device recognition is unavailable, iOS sends the audio to Apple for transcription under Apple’s own privacy terms. We say "on-device where supported" rather than "always on-device" because the second one would not be true for everyone.

What you said comes back as text you can read. Every assistant command shows you a preview of exactly what it would do and waits for your confirmation before it does it, and actions can be undone. Moving or completing a single task by voice is free; commands that reshape a whole day are a Pro feature.

Trueday can find people by name in search, but it never asks for access to your contacts. The names it knows come only from what you typed yourself: the people you attached to your own tasks, and the attendees on meetings you created.

Revoke microphone or speech recognition access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, or → Speech Recognition. Trueday keeps working normally without either; you simply type instead of speaking.
